Camping Trip, Yay!

If you hadn't noticed by the title of this post, I'm going on a CAMPING TRIP of AWESOMENESS!!!  However, that means that this post is going to be SUUUUUPER short, because I still have a ton of stuff I need to do to be ready by 7 in the morning.  Yeah, you heard right.  Seven.  Well, it will probably be 8 by the time we head out, but that's all last minute stuff...

This week, then, I'm throwing stuff at you like a crazy person and letting you form your own opinions.  Maybe you'll even comment and make me a very lucky duck ;)

First video then:

Love love love.  Even though the cover photo has his mouth open and everything! :D

Slower, but I still really like it!

This one is perhaps my favorite, because it's so zany and cute.

That's it!  I know, super short.  I hope you all have the BEST weekend ever, cause I know I'm going to!!!  And listen to lots of fun music for me :)

Rap, Rock, and... Techno?

Today there are THREE videos that I want to share!  You see that?!  3!  Of course, only one of them is rap... But that's okay!  The others are awesomely wonderful in their own right.  I promise ;)

We'll start with our hip hop song, though.  I've talked about the Quiett before, and he has come out with another AMAZING song.

Note before you watch: I do NOT approve of smoking and drinking and whatever else he is doing in this video that I just might not have caught.  Yucky!  (And I'm pretty sure he drops the f-bomb at the end).  But, I do really love the song.  And the video is sooo interesting!

Next we've got Kim Bada with "Searching."  Rock/Alternative and with a cool video of them playing/singing cut with a video of a dancer.  It's an (I would use many adjectives here, but they might not sound appropriate for rock music) awesome song and video.  Seriously, I really like it!

And finally, for our techno song!  I... really like techno, guys.  And LudiSTELO's "Jungle Activity" can seem like a long song, but it's really fun to listen to.  Any or all of these might not be your style, but sometimes you just have to give something a try, right?  the video is a little bit interesting, what with going under water and everything, and it starts out really cool!  So, check it out :D

Hope you liked at least one of this oddball collection of songs!  Have a great week!!! :D

Happy Spring :D

It is taking all of my willpower right now, as I am writing this to not just throw every single Standing Egg song that came out this week onto this post.  Their new mini-album was released, and it's so wonderful!  You have no idea how much I want to do that.  Really.

Alas, there are also some phenomenally outstanding songs that came out this week, and I want to show you all of the ones that I just really like.  There are several, and they are varied.

This is going to be one of those weeks where I do not write much, mostly because I love too many songs, and I don't want this post to be uber long.

First we'll go with 다람 (Daram)'s song, "Daydreaming."  So whimsical but at the same time, a weird whimsical.  Brings to mind slightly off-kilter daydreams, where dogs may fly and the sky can be made of water...  I dunno.  I like it, it's great.

How about we go with 솔루션스 (The Solutions), "Tonight" 어쿠스칙 라이브.  I heard them first a little while ago, and I just pretty much love everything about these guys.  They are just so much fun.

This next one, totally different from the others.  Lena Park with Atlantis Princess.  It's pretty and cute, and also a nice song.  Plus I love that she's dressed up with wings.  Really.  I love that.

And I'm gonna end with Standing Egg.  I HAD TO!!!  This one is Miss Flower, and I just love it.  Perfect Spring transitioning into Summer song: it will lead you through all of your adventures this week!

So.  Have a phenomenal week, love life and have adventures!  Especially with music :D

권순관[moment] - 그렇게 웃어줘

Sometimes I have no idea what I want to post about.  I bet you never even noticed, right? ;)

Often, those can be the most rewarding days.  I get to discover things I never knew I would have liked had I not taken the chance to open myself to new things.

This song and music video, for instance.  권순관[moment] - 그렇게 웃어줘.  I honestly don't think I would have even given the music video a second look had I already had something epic in mind.  Boy would I have missed out!

Really, this is such a beautifully made video, and wonderful, chill, and sort of melancholy song; and I don't know that I have too much to say about it.  A few things I love:  I do adore how he is playing the piano on the wet table.  I love how it shows him spilling the water onto the table.  Her mouthing the words along with his singing is fantastic.  And that huge bubble?  It was a foregone conclusion that the bubble must pop.  Sometimes we feel like ended relationships are like that, don't we?  We saw the end coming and had no way to stop it.

The song is just... *sigh*... wonderful.  Really, he has such a pure voice, the piano is beautiful, and the bridge?  Lovely, matching the video, or the video matching the bridge.  Such a purely chill song to relax to.

Enjoy:

And, don't let the mellow chillness of it fool you.  It is pretty amazing.  Just what I needed today.

Have a great week listening to your music! :D

최자(CHOIZA)_없어 AND Zion.T _ Babay (feat.Gaeko)

Finally, I am taking the time  to write about this amazing music video.  I'm so excited!!  I've also got another that was just released that I want to comment on, too.  Hopefully you will watch them both, and love them as much as or more than I do.

The first one is by Choiza, called "Going Down."

Holy Cow.  I saw that Amoeba Korea was going crazy posting this video everywhere, and was intrigued because it only had the word "Eopso" on the still for the video (forgive my horrid Romanization), and I've quite liked a lot of what has come from Amoeba Culture.  I kept putting off watching it, until I didn't really have a choice.

Boy, I should have watched it earlier!  The video.  Let's talk about the video first :D

Oh!  Several things I noticed, and several things that just make me happy (and overall it is just epic!).  I love the song set to the video.  Seriously.  It feels like it fits.  Even though it seems like nothing happens in the video, that's okay, because, really that's kind of what it's about.  Going down, right?  The branches and the yarn and the drippy-looking icky stuff that may be blood, but also very well may be chocolate syrup.  So interesting, and so... Just... I loved it.  And I don't know why.

Choiza's stillness is compelling here.  He is moving, but in very minute ways, and only truly moving when he's trying to get past all that wispy-sheet stuff in the doorway.  It's hard to be still, especially when you're supposed to and the camera is on you.  The stillness he embodies kind of flows throughout the song and the video, and everything seems in half-speed.

Throughout the music video, the imagery is sharp and fascinating, but also very minimalistic.  I just can't get over how much I love the whole thing.

The music.  Wow, I love it.  Begins with a rhythm from a sort of pipe-like instrument, echo-y and surreal.  His voice comes in and it's synthed into deeper and deeper octaves.  Cue drums and a sick beat (I can't believe I just used "sick"), and rap, and it turns into this... Wonderful, fantastic but deep and still-to-the-heart-of-it, song.  If that makes any sense.  And perhaps the stillness is not something natural, but enforced, if by himself or others?  I don't know.

Enough blather.  I love this music video more than I thought :D

See?  Isn't it FANTASTIC???

Zion. T just today released "Babay" featuring Gaeko.

Bah ha ha!  This music video is hysterical and clever, and looks like so much fun!  At first, when I only watched the beginning, I thought, "Okay, this is a little disappointing, because it looks so main-stream." I should have had a little bit more trust in Zion. T, should I have?

Only a few things:  In that box, if I were her?  I would be freaking out because of claustrophobia and because he was touching her dress!  I... What... Weird.  I'd freak.  And, that box?  Wow, it was interesting, it seemed like gravity kept shifting.  Loved it.

Also, the art gallery room?  So funny.  And painting all over it must've been a blast for him!  I loved Zion. T's outfit, the whole time; the glasses were a riot!  Just the right touch.  And the play between Gaeko as the security guard and Zion. T as the mad mastermind?  Brilliant.

As for the song?  Definitely wonderful, so catchy, something I'll probably be humming for the week to come.  Loved it.

And here ya go:

Enjoy these, and have a brilliant week! :D

I Can't Keep it to Just One

Yet again, I have put this off until the last minute.  At least it's not PAST the last minute this time.

I had a few songs in mind before I started exploring to supplement my already awesome list for this week's Chill Music Stash.  And guess what?!  Those songs were booted out by other songs/videos that just... Make me so happy!  So, beware, these are quirky, wonderful, and ultimately just lovely songs and music videos that, if you have not seen them yet--what are you waiting for?!

Let's start with The Rocktigers, shall we?  They released "Haunted" on April 3rd, and it is so bouncy and fun, and old-fashioned rock-style that I was dancing along to the music in my seat. Let me tell you, as soon as I saw that upright bass, I was a goner.  I am such a sucker for the upright bass, mostly because I tend to think if the band has that, they've got a type of quirk-factor that is certain to make my day!

Their whole style is just phenomenal: I love their energy, and the video is simple and wonderful.  They've got shots of the band all glammed up for the video, and then they've got shots of them performing live.  It's great, they keep it just interesting and fun enough that you don't think halfway through, "What, why am I still watching?"  They're energetic, and I don't know how they do some of those things they do (especially with that bass, did you see that?  He STOOD on it!)--so much fun to watch!  The song is such a great throwback to when rock was totally fun and involved, and not a lot of screaming.  I can see people swing-dancing to this kind of music.  So upbeat and something to dance to. (The description is calling it rockabilly--very aptly named, that!)

Rockabilly aside (epic and fun though it was), I found something that just... is pretty much the epitome of the Chill Music Stash.  Seriously.  This video is quirky and a little bit silly but just plain wonderful.  It's Sun Woo Jung Ah with "The Song of Hero."

Oh.  Boy.  This song.  Perfect.  I love finding those songs that are so playful but also jazzy and sing-able, and... *shivers with happiness*

I love the play of all the instruments, and I love the simplicity of the song, but how they are all put together makes for something wonderful, that pretty much everyone can love.  And the video?!  Ha ha ha!  It is so great!  This lady?  She's so darling.  I enjoy watching her, she's so creative, and has just that touch of silliness in her that lets her do her own thing without needing to take it too seriously.  I like those people.

Now watch, so you, too, can bask in the beauty of epic chill music:

She just looks like she's having a really great time, doesn't she?  It's pretty much wonderful.

Now for someone we've heard from before--J Rabbit with "We're in love."

These girls are darling, but more than that, I really love their music.  Every song they make is so pretty, but also light and airy.  I love their harmonies--their voices work so well together.

In this video, they have all different shots in one screen, and it's so cute to see them goofing off in the lower middle screen.  Just you wait, you'll see it, they crack themselves up (I love it, because we all do it.  You don't have to admit it to me, but admit it to yourself at least), but they also have all different kinds of instruments that they put into the song.

I love it, and you should too:

See?  Wasn't that darling?

Well, dears, it has been a fantastic week for Chill Music.  Keep listening and stay awesome!  I am reeeeaaaalllly hoping to get another rap corner in.  I've got one that I'm just BURNING to talk about, it's that... stunning.  So, I will schedule my time better, and you all have a fantastic weekend :D
